About the Recipe

Introducing my high protein Berry Crumble, a nutritious dessert that seamlessly blends flavor with health benefits. This crumble features a filling of antioxidant-rich berries, which are packed with vitamins C and K, alongside dietary fiber that aids in digestion. The crumble topping is made with a scoop of vanilla protein powder, supplying essential amino acids vital for muscle repair and growth. Combined with rolled oats, which offer complex carbohydrates and soluble fiber to support heart health, and almond flour, rich in vitamin E and healthy fats, this topping creates a satisfying texture. With the addition of high-protein yogurt—either dairy or dairy-free—this dessert delivers approximately 35 grams of protein per serving. This berry crumble is not only a delicious indulgence but also a scientifically formulated option for those seeking a nutrient-dense treat that aligns with their health-conscious lifestyle. Ingredients

Filling:

  • 1 cup berries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • Squeeze of lemon Juice

Crumble:

  • ⅓ cup rolled oats

  • 1 scoop protein powder (I use vanilla plant protein, can use whey for non DFO)

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

  • 1½ tbsp almond butter

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

  • 2 ½ tbsp water

  • ¼ cup high protein Greek yogurt or high protein dairy free yogurt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C bake. Line a 6 inch round baking dish with baking paper.

Step 2

Combine all filling ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. Pour into a pot and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until the frozen berries have defrosted. Add water as needed to deglaze the pan.

Step 3

Combine all crumble ingredients together in a bowl. Add water in small amounts until the crumble starts to stick together.

Step 4

Add the filling to the lined baking dish and top with your crumble.

Step 5

Bake for 15-20 minutes until the top has become golden.

Step 6

Serve with high protein Greek yogurt, or high protein dairy free yoghourt for extra protein.
